Glad I posted this thread. It's actually made me think and appreciate, yes, I should be glad I have a home. I guess It was the greed in me ( I think we all have a little greed one way or another ) that was making me upset.

I also found out that now-a-days, 6k in property tax is not much considering what others are paying for homes being bought. The average home is now 700k, that's around 12k in property tax!!

In a way it still sucks, but so does paying for gas. So, I've come to realize that, that's just how the world turns. But still, I can't help to think what I would by with that money!! Ok, ok, I'll stop.

I am not sure where you live, but property tax on a $700K house should be around $8700 a year, not $12K.

1. All of the schools were great schools and we didn't have to bus kids from one neighborhood to another. They'd be able to walk to school like we did when I was a kid.

2. We have a transit system that was safe to use at night and ran remotely on time.

3. We provided programs in the City that got the homeless off of the street, have them work on SF's infrastructure or contribute to the City's well being in return for food and shelter.

4. The City was a little more forward thinking and support mom and pop stores by reducing the amount of bull$hit taxation and bureaucracy needed to stay open. Support entrepenuers, that's what made America great.

That's all I want. Not too much to ask for from a simple tax paying, registered voter like me... right?

taxes wouldn't need to be so high if we could properly manage the money... well not we but the government. 87 billion+ to a war... ok fine take 43.5 billion for the war then give 43.5 billion to all the states school systems..(california)

Did you actually just post a link to the Libertarian Party?!?

Yes, we wouldn't pay any taxes. You would just be paying more money hiring your own private monopolistic (because the Libertarians are naive enough to think that pure open markets works) police, fire, ambulance and road building companies.

you'd pay MORE for LESS.
