EQ Tuning would like to congratulate our employees Tom and Yuli Armstrong on the birth of their baby girl this weekend!

On that note, please stay patient while Yuli is out of the office as we will be relying more on the answering machine. Please don't hesitate to leave messages as I will continue to respond to them daily.

Thanks

A little update:

We've been busy at work here on numerous engine builds, one of which will be a 1000hp GT-R! In the meantime we're also doing general maintenance work and just started some nice track additions to a brand new 2013 STI. I'll post some pictures of all the nice bits this car is getting. Oh... and we also offer transmission rebuild services now

Thanks

We just took apart an STI with 9000 Miles that failed a leakdown test. This STI had a turbo, injectors, and FMIC installed and tuned at another shop only 3000 miles ago. Upon inspection, we found most exhaust valves burned badly as well as damaged cams from overheating the heads. This is what happens when a car is tuned too lean and/or running too little timing causing very hot exhaust gas temperatures.

Some blue smoke on deceleration from failed valve seals.

We recently finished building this car, broke it in, and spent some time tuning it. This is one of my favorite street turbos around and it never disappoints. Please note that we only ran this car at 22-23psi peak on E85 because the car is still on the stock 5MT and was already making great torque. We've run this turbo up to 25-26psi peak on 6MT cars, so this thing still has plenty of mid range left:

Engine/Power Modifications:

EQ Tuning Stage 2 Shortblock
EQ Tuning Stage 2 Heads (Stock Cams)
ATP GTX3071 Stock Location Turbo With Tial EWG
Catless TBE
EL Headers
AEM CAI
Perrin 3" Inlet
Process West TMIC
ID2000cc Injectors
Aeromotive Fuel Pump
EQ Custom Tune on E85 Using Cobb AP

Native Dynocom Calibration (no smoothing):

Mustang Calibration using .85 CF (no smoothing):

Thanks

Yea I love the gearing in the 09+ WRX. I wish you could build a 6 speed with that gearing as it just works so well with these engines!
