ECUtek tuning question
I'm looking to get my car reflashed using ECUtek, it's already flashed for top performance and now I'm looking to get the car tuned for fuel economy and perhaps low-end power. Is this possible? Fuel prices are too high and after the last track day I'm ready to step the power down for putting around town.
Any tuners out there got any reflash deals going? Thank you!
Also it's an 02-03 WRX

bank,
Tuning for both fuel economy AND max power is actually possible... it all depends on what you do with your right foot. One of the main ways to tune for fuel economy is to keep boost low at partial throttle allowing you to stay in closed loop almost all the time... untill you need that quick burst of power for a quick lane change or pass. Granted, this sort of tune makes the car feel a bit more sluggish as you need to feed in more throttle to get boost and power up. But when you really need the power, you can always put your foot to the floor and you'll be right back at your "max power" (and low fuel economy of course). This sort of tune is good for a around the town driving when you don't need your car to be super peppy and deffinately saves on gas. Let me know if you have any questions or if something I said isn't quite clear.
Thanks

Lately I've been keeping the car at 65mph and out of boost on the freeway, but my fuel mileage is not so good. The car is tuned for max power, unfortunately boost comes on really fast at 2000rpm which I'm afraid is going to prematurely wear out the engine and is definitely causing the engine to use a lot of gas. GruppeS gave me a quote for an hour of tuning ECUtek but at that price point I can't justify it.
Can any other tuners closely match the $50 w/ one hour tune I-Speed offered about a year ago? They moved to Oceanside so that's out of the question now

Bill at Ispeed did a great job at making power with the car, it's a very aggressive tune and it really likes to chug gas now. Overall this car has been really great, you can take it offroad, in snow, to the track, to the grocery store, and believe it or not I've fit six people in the car before (one in the hatch hahaha)! I couldn't think of a better all-around car except for the gas mileage.

It doesn't really have much to do with our motors, but rather the amount of boost we run and mostly the octane of the fuel we use. You can get an NA engine to 12.5:1 and you can also get a boosted engine close to 12.5:1 on C16.

Just to let you know I am not picking on you but stating that I-Club seems to know what a good tune is, what the proper A/F ratios are and understand how to tune. Funny how this all happened once before and it is happening again. be careful of what you read online.
