I had a set of Sure E2C's, and they sounded awesome, but my ear canal is shallow, so the fit wasn't awesome. Of course, they got stolen when I was deployed (long story). I paid $100 at Fry's for 'em.

I have the sony mdr-ex 71's and now have the shure e2c's. I like the shure's alot better. The 71's sound really muddy and boomy. Theh shure's are less muddy, but still not as good as traditional headphones like Grado SR-60's. I just got the new soft rubber inserts for the e2c's and they're mor comfy now. I was usiing the foam, but they get dirty real fast.

I have E2C's as well. I got them at GoodGuys for $99. I read a little about them and they seemed better suited for a small player and use without an amp. I used them on a 3 wk trip to Sweden and I like them a lot. They are uncomfortable to insert (ie prisonsex for your ears) but are comfortable when in (even with my head on a pillow) and they come with many different sized earbud things to try. They sound better than any earbud/earphone I have used and completely block out external noise.

It asks for an affiliate company name. I am sure they check to see if you are actuall an employee...

i have the e2c's and the e3c's so I'll chime in. the e2c's have better sound isolation for me, but the e3c's are distinctly more sensitive and have a lot more bass. i wear the e2c's when i ride my bike and my e3c's almost all day at work so that should say something about comfort. use the foam sleeves if you can, and when they start to get dirty, poor hot water on them and they'll clean up in seconds.
So what do you have to get past the "Affiliate Company Name"? It seems to check for the company that you work for. Anyway to get around it?

Yes be a student or have an old school id laying around and use that.
The e2c's come with the same flex sleeves as the e3c's now. That should fix the comfort issue... still having trouble deciding, though. If you had to choose one, which would it be?

Now I'm going to have to re-rip all my music in 256kbp...

Yep, I have a baggy of 3x different rubber and 3x different foam sleeves that came with my E2's plus 10x 'wax filter' screens. I think it was headphone.com that recommended lower ohm earphones for use without an external amp, so I thought the E3's would be better suited for my MP3 player. I think they sound crystal clear with excellent bass response, so I would really like to hear the E3's some time to compare.. I didn't buy them at the time because I knew the E2's would be better than what I had, and the E3's were about 2x the price at GoodGuys and Fry's.
