i looked in the e85 threads and didn't see that anyone posted about sacramento-based Propel Inc. they announced a couple weeks ago they got some gov't funding to make e85 more widespread in california.

Then my wife invited more people then we have seats for in the car, so I ended up driving my in-law's minivan... ulgh. At least it was a warm day and I didn't have to deal with a freaking Sienna in the snow. They don't have chains for it either.
At least she could have told me before I swapped the Wintersports on.
And it doesn't take much to run E85. larger injectors and a tune. Completely stock car (just about any car, not just WRX) can run a ~30% blend and gets a nice octane boost. Just gotta make sure you have enough injector so when the ECU compensates, you don't run out of injector.

Key wording in the article was "...in major markets". In other words, if you don't live in Sac, LA, SF, SD, etc, don't expect to see Propel's name at a station near you. When I see actual ethanol stations/pumps going up all over the state, as opposed to CNG or biodiesel, I will believe the marketing. In any case, it's pointless from a personal p.o.v. since Sonoma Co. isn't a major market of California. If only Propel would drop an ethanol pump at Sears Point...
