Hey,
My buddy's in a pinch, and we need to clear a CEL. His infiniti is up for smog soon, and non of the free PC softwares are working.
Anyone have a scanner that can zap CELs? Willing to loan it to me for a week or so?

Keep in mind you cannot simply reset the CEL and then go smog. You must drive long enough to reset the proper amount of counters which if it's a problem like a bad 02 or something, will trigger the CEL again. The smog machines are getting smarter.

Left a message on your celly. Wombat is right. Just clearing it will get rid of the cel but the monitor for whatever function it was won't be set. Once the monitor tries to set itself again the cel will come back. More than likley he'll have to fix whatever is wrong. You can use my scanner though lemme know.

You can get them from harborfreight.com for around $40.... I got one and it works great (even though it looks like a cheap $2 POS)
