RallyX is just like autox but in a dirt field instead of a parking lot. You go around a coned course and try to avoid hitting them. You deffinately don't need a co-driver or even a helmet because they have loaners. All you really need is a car that'll pass the self tech inspecition. Basically a car that won't blow up and injur someone

And yes this course and rallycross will help you with cornering on dirt. Especially if youve never been on dirt before. I believe this year to be much better then the last years which was great.

If you have been through a performance driving school (typically costing about $350 +) this probably won't teach you much you don't already know, although on loose surfaces all of those things are exaggerated compared to on pavement.
It is primarily about Rally racing, but it is very comprehensive, I don't think there is any other course offered so inexpensively that teaches as much about how to participate in any form of motorsport.
But whether or not it helps you is really up to you, if you don't go to the class it certainly won't, and if you go and lose interest because of the various technicalities taught the first part it probably won't help a lot either, but if you go and make an effort to pay attention and remember what they teach- it will certainly help.
The afternoon driving drills not only improve your skills, but they are a lot of fun too.

its an all-weather tire so it should be fine. I ran Avon Tech 550 M/S's for the last two events last year and they held up fine, it was Laguna Seca that killed em for the most part
