Hey does anyone know if you have to do the classes? or if you can just sign up, pay the $40 non-member fee and rally?

also is it $40 per person or car?

just curious, cant find some of this on their site, and cannot figure out how to contact them. maybe im just stupid.

thanks

You can do the RallyX only. $40 is per person.

No Co-Driver needed for the RallyX.

BTW, someone else posted recently with similar questions. If you can find that thread there is an email address for Skylar.

just go to the www.sfrscca.org website, all the info you need is on there

EDIT: maybe the info is implied on the site instead of stated...who knows

RallyX is just like autox but in a dirt field instead of a parking lot. You go around a coned course and try to avoid hitting them. You deffinately don't need a co-driver or even a helmet because they have loaners. All you really need is a car that'll pass the self tech inspecition. Basically a car that won't blow up and injur someone .

Haha... I admit I did my share of cone killing and I'm damn proud of it! .

I cleaned up my act last season though.

Has anyone done the course before? I'm wondering if the course really helped improve your driving skills, especially cornering.

the school is june 10th. And the rallycross is the 11th. Yes you can do it in a lowerd car. If your slammed just dont be stupid and youll be fine.
And yes this course and rallycross will help you with cornering on dirt. Especially if youve never been on dirt before. I believe this year to be much better then the last years which was great.

By now, I'd expect over a thousand people have taken this course, and many have gone on to become succesful rally racers.

If you have been through a performance driving school (typically costing about $350 +) this probably won't teach you much you don't already know, although on loose surfaces all of those things are exaggerated compared to on pavement.

It is primarily about Rally racing, but it is very comprehensive, I don't think there is any other course offered so inexpensively that teaches as much about how to participate in any form of motorsport.

But whether or not it helps you is really up to you, if you don't go to the class it certainly won't, and if you go and lose interest because of the various technicalities taught the first part it probably won't help a lot either, but if you go and make an effort to pay attention and remember what they teach- it will certainly help.

The afternoon driving drills not only improve your skills, but they are a lot of fun too.

its an all-weather tire so it should be fine. I ran Avon Tech 550 M/S's for the last two events last year and they held up fine, it was Laguna Seca that killed em for the most part
