I was the exact opposite. Got STi seats and the zapping has started.

I've made it a habit to touch the outside (metal side) of the a-pillar while getting out of the car. That eliminates the shocks. I think the dry weather and low humidity definitely make it worse, but it's also got a lot to do with the clothes you're wearing and your car seats. It doesn't happen nearly as much anymore with the leather seats in my FXT; in my old OBS it was pretty much a daily occurence.
This is actually a very good point. It is because of this you should never return to your driver seat while pumping gas. Initially when exiting the car at the gas station, you put your hand on the door, static is discharged, owwee a shock. You then proceed to grab the nozzel and begin fueling. If you return to your drivers seat and do not close the door, upon exiting to remove the nozzel your static charge will be dicharged to the filler nozzel and that's a big ol' owwee. Boom Boom.
Try going to the store and getting some "static gaurd". Spray it on the seats. This will help cease the production of static, and for the ladies it will help to keep your hair from flying as well.

Herro. It happened to me (seeeeriously strong shocks too) whenever I would wear one particular jacket. I think it's the synthetic fiber in the jacket + the synthetic fiber of the seats.

I get shocked every time I see my water bill - it's more than my utility bill!

That shock you get is static build up - one way to reduce this is to use curb feelers.

i noticed that too, but when i said that in wrxfanatics i got flamed on by people saying that it had nothing to do with it. but i still dont shocked as much as before with the grounding kit.
I used to get around the electric shock by using my windows to open and close the doors, but once I got metallic tint, the windows started shocking me
