If you do have a ringland issue, even that the car power seems to be there fine, make sure you change your oil lot more often, the carbon is getting passed the piston in to your oil. It will leave build up everywhere that your oil passes including your turbo.

ABSOLUTELY DO THIS. Happened on my old car I would have to change the oil at least once every week and a half... In the end its not even worth doing it for the cost of the damn oil :-/ Be careful out there, hopefully you wont get stuck

I recently went to Subaru for this same issue.

Subaru said this is happens to our motors here and there. Basically, I had a loose guide. They had to pull the whole motor, rebuild the head, and put everything back to spec. It burnt a few valves along the way, hence the rebuild.

It could be a number of things, but apparently this problem I had isn't random.
