Well guys heres an update cylinder#4 has only 70psi
so motor is pretty much done, although it drives normal and doesnt burn oil???
Adam from Edge ran a few test and the cocnlusion was cylinder 4 is suffering from low compression, why? most likely cracked ringland now lets all give me a group hug

Sorry bro.

If you aren't looking for anything crazy you can get OEM EJ257 for a little less then 2k. You could also do a basic build for only a few hundred more. Totally blows though man, motor money costs .

That really sucks Javier! Did you do a leakdown test to see if its a ringland or a valve issue?

Unfortunately yes another motor bites the dust. I was almost dead sure it was going to be a tight valve lash issue, given that his motor is not consuming oil nor smoking under acceleration. To my surprise the valve clearances on the driver side cylinder head all check out within spec. I then told Javier that I could run a compression test. Boom there it was, Cyl 2: 150; Cyl 4: 70. One more check I did was popping the timing covers off and verified all the cam gears and crank line up on their marks. Mechanical timing checked out good. A leakdown check wasn't necessary as once I buttoned up the engine, I fired it up and verified smoke pumping out of the oil cap filler. It's a very quick and dirty way to verify if the motor is creating excess blowby, via cracked piston ringlands.

Sorry for the situation Javier, but I hope we can take care of you.

How much smoke coming out of the oil cap filler? I've never had my car on with the cap off, but it'll smoke a little when I check my oil at a gas station or wherever after running it

Quite a bit, under slight throttle blips the smoke pumped out rapidly. A nice tight motor shouldn't smoke at all. Built motors MIGHT smoke a hair bit under cold start due to looser piston to wall clearances, but even then they shouldn't if the rings are seated well.

Smoke out if the oil fill tube is a dead giveaway of a cracked ringland. We usually check that first since if its present, no need to check anything else.

It's normal to see some after shutting the engine off. But while its running there should be no smoke in a healthy engine.

Very true because when oil is. I remember on my older car that I would have to check for oil because the engine was a bit older and at the gas station it looks similar to steam. Sucks that your cylinder is dead whats the next option?

Motor still runs awesome, I decided to drive the car for now until I chose a build plan and builder... The check engine light hasn't even came on yet since the battery was off when Adam was inspecting the motor. I'm most likely doing a basic build with some good internals
