It's worth while to see what will transfer besides what it says on paper. They say you'll need course catalog descriptions, but my advisor (this was for journalism) just took my word for it when I said "I already took that class."

However, it just filled a requirement void, not a unit one. Ie: I still had to take a minimum number of SJSU courses (units).

The number and types of units needed to graduate is somewhat complicated, but knowing and confirming what you need, from multiple sources (and that ain't just a journalism thing) will do one well.

I started as a CS major at SJSU and even worked a semester as one of the student assistants. The CS program isn't anything to brag about but it was a solid program. If you decide to do CompE or any other engineering, SJSU is definitely the way to go. I graduated as an ISE major and the college of engineering is a great program. I know plenty of people who found great jobs after leaving SJSU's engineering program.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like SJ might live up to the hype. I still have a few months before I have to commit so I'm definitely going to be doing some more research about each one and visit each campus and see what kind of vibe I get from each one.
