Cal Poly Pomona is probably one of the most safest and dullest Campuses on earth. So if security is a concern, then you have nothing to worry about. You can have the hottest chicks walk naked at night and not worry about a thing there. But in terms of social life, it sucks.
It's alright. We just had a new building built in the union with a gym and mall style food court. Only the gym is open right now and the rest will be ready at the end of the summer. They also built a new "luxury" dorm . Parking isn't too bad. The school is expanding and it will be interesting to see if fees will go up again with gray davis' school buget cut. I've never had a problem with security of my car, but I saw a police bulliten today that said 4 cars were stolen recently(all hondas)

so, like, i think u just said csu is full of hot naked chicks, right? ok, im there.
Oh btw, im looking for summer housing out there, and i emailed the housing people. They said i can live in "university village". Can u csu ppl tell me what that is? and is it cheaper than the $2000 summer dorms w/mandatory meal plan?
I dont own a honda, but i think i'll get a car security system anyway. Is there anything on the market that like paralyzes thieves or maybe burns out there retinas? that would be nice.

There's a handful of Impreza guys that go to Cal Poly Pomona, so hopefully you won't be alone.
PomonaWRX, Carlo, goes to school there and informed me that they had dorms there! Not many Cal States have dorms.
Good luck!

well i'm finally here and it seems like the campus is pretty safe. I'm actually kind of impressed with how clean and "pretty" the whole place is... And i've seen quite a few scoobies driving around so thats cool too. For now i'm workin on finding good places to get my grub on, not that I'm afraid of campus food ya know..
BTW, the roads here are awesome!! so much fun!

hmm... safety in pomona. U know i've only been on the campus a couple of times (mainly to scope out the hot naked chix) but it was pretty safe & clean. However, make sure u avoid all other parts of that crime infested city. Streets like holt & garey rival LA for housing some of the most sketchy people in so-cal.
What do u drive zero?
I have a wrx wagon, if u want to meet up some time I can show u around via verde, covina hills, san dimas cnyn, & other funs roads.

Take the "Angeles Crest Forest...Hwy 2" run for the most awesome road, but watch out for the "bikes" race'n by. You can stop at the top for breakfast (the best time to go) or lunch when ALL the others get there. That road is just north of you about 20-30 minutes. Once you find out that one or two hour drives are "local" around LA you can check out the roads that go from the coast over the coastal mountains (about a dozen) and the one on the top...Mulhuland Dr.

about tires, i wuv my kumho ecsta supra 712, they're sized 225/45ZR16. They're a hair slower for straight line, but they more than make up for it on the twistys. Oh yeah, the best part, i got 2 of them for $212 mounted & balanced. Tucker Tire in covina. My next tires that i think i'll use are the toyo r-compounds or the heat-cycled & shaved kumho's.

whoa awesome k i'm gonna go check the roads out then
other than -bikes-, is there a lot of traffic?
as far as tires, i am a former kumho supra owner myself, hehe. I thought they were a great bang for the buck tire. They felt a little squishy tho, so i might try out a azenis or es100 type tire now that i'm in the land of no rain.

On an average, there are about 3-5 car thefts/vandalism in the student parking lot.
Get to Cal Poly early and park on the streets or near the security post.

I read something about canyon roads that are good for driving...any info about that?
