CSU admissions guru's, HELP. I have had a mixup.
So I applied to CSU long beach and there was a mistake when I applied. I accidentally (or something else effed up) applied for kinesiology: exercise science, but I really intended to apply for kinesiology: kinesiotherapy. The problem is that the classes I took meet the prerequisites of the latter and not the first and got a letter of denial. I looked today and saw that the majors were mixed up and that was, no doubt, the reason why I was denied acceptance. I plan to call their admission office tomorrow and see what they say. But do you guys know what my options are and if there's any chance that I can still be accepted or having my app reconsidered for this coming fall? It's a pretty big deal, and I was really banking on getting into there.
Any help or advice would be great!!!
TIA!!!!!!!

I don't know how Long Beach works, but if you call tomorrow (or whenever) and they deny you, you can appeal that process. Unless LB works differently, though I don't see why it would, request an appeal and that'll be your best bet.

Yeah, if they grant you an appeal, you basically go in and state your claim. It's kinda like court I guess, but you're appealing in front of the administration board rather than a judge, lol..I think.
Good luck and keep us up to date!

Yeah, an appeal is a written letter which I also had to do a couple years back to not get kicked out. I believe you can also request an oral appeal though (that usually shows some initiative and something about yourself). Try it, can't hurt to request that
Yeah, good luck. I had the same problem with a class. It was essentially the same thing, writing, just under a different name. I appealed and they rejected it. My professor then proceeded to say they are effin stupid. Apologized for her language, and told me we can work out a deal.
Your first step should be to contact the following people to explain your situation:
Department Chair
Sharon R. Guthrie, Ph. D
guthrie@csulb.edu

Department Admin
Stacia Ticer

(562) 985-8066
Kinesiotherapy Professor
Janet Fisher, Ph.D
fisherja@csulb.edu

If you don't get anywhere with those three, there are some more options here.

Thanks for the help guys. I called them and I finished writing a formal letter of appeal. Pretty nervous about it but i'm sending it out tomorrow with the supporting paperwork and my transcript.
If anyone on here is familiar and good at writing formal letters of appeal, could you pm me and look over my letter that I wrote? I would greatly appreciate that.
TIA
