I'm a registered Democrat. I don't own a gun. I think legislation like this is foolish and misguided. Gun control only (negatively) affects legitimate owners, not the criminals that everyone's so concerned with. The weapons aren't the problem, and the weapons have legitimate uses for hunting, home defense, and entertainment. Trying to control weapons production, sale, and ownership by legitimate owners is pointless and contradictory to the beliefs our country was founded on.
Take a look sometime at assault rates (with and without weapons) in states that issue concealed carry permits......they're lower than California. Why could that be?

(3) Paragraph (1) shall not apply to--
‘(A) any of the firearms, or replicas or duplicates of the firearms, specified in appendix A to this section, as such firearms were manufactured on October 1, 1993;
‘(B) any firearm that--
‘(i) is manually operated by bolt, pump, lever, or slide action;
‘(ii) has been rendered permanently inoperable; or
‘(iii) is an antique firearm;
‘(C) any semiautomatic rifle that cannot accept a detachable magazine that holds more than 5 rounds of ammunition; or
‘(D) any semiautomatic shotgun that cannot hold more than 5 rounds of ammunition in a fixed or detachable magazine.
The fact that a firearm is not listed in appendix A shall not be construed to mean that paragraph (1) applies to such firearm. No firearm exempted by this subsection may be deleted from appendix A so long as this subsection is in effect.

Oh yeah, another thing I wanna bring up since we're talking about how lame the "assault weapons" bans are...
Did you know one of the EVIL characteristics of a rifle (you need 3 to make it into what they call an "assault rifle") is having a bayonet lug, which means you cannot have the lug at the end of your rifle that allows you to put a bayonet onto your rifles/shotguns. Why would that be illegal? I'd be hell of a lot more scared of getting shot then someone stabbing me with their gun...
Its not like you can't just carry a knife around with you... Bayonets are mostly for decoration nowadays.
Here's my shotgun with a SIG ARMS bayonet:

Still, they already took our right to have high capacity magazines and limited us to 10 rounds, and now they are trying to make it 5 rounds? Whats next? Going to make EVERY gun single shot and bolt action? All of this is just very unnerving.

11rds in a magazine - So, 10 is ok, but 11 is "evil." Can we say....arbitrary? I guess criminals only own 1 magazine, and don't know how to reload.
Bayonet lug - Are people retarded? We're talking about a GUN here....it shoots bullets! Who gives a damn if I can also STAB someone with something that ALREADY SHOOTS BULLETS! That's like saying adding a pepper sprayer to a gun should also make it more "evil."

After I got to the hospital and was drugged up, my friend let me use his laptop where I posted a thread on OT saying that I was going to be in the hospital for a while because I sustained a head injury which resulted in swelling of the brain, hyper extended my shoulder, and fractured my wrist... Apparently another NASIOC member was in the hospital too from a drug overdose and they thought I created the thread to mock the other member, like a pardody even though the other member was my good friend, I just didnt know he was in the hospital...
Anyway, they called BS on my story, just like they call BS on everything and banned me cuz of it even though I provided pictures of me getting CT scans, xrays, and sitting in bed in the ER... That wasn't good enough for them. I think the main reason I got banned is because Nick doesn't like me because when he stole the old i-club domain I took Alex' side 100%. That fat bastard, hope his wife dies.

So, Mr ignorant gun hater, do you know anything about history? Doesn't seem like you're very educated in even the most basic knowledge of the past, so I'll remind you of one very important event that happened in WWII.
When Adolph Hitler came into power in the late 30s as the chancellor of Duetchland (Thats what Germany is called in every country but ours), guess what one of the VERY first things he did as newly appointed chancellor? He stripped the citizens of the right to bare arms, he banned everything from basic pistols to hunting rifles. Why did he do this? So the Jews and the rest of the country couldn't revolt when the SS came to slaughter people and send them to death camps. The citizens were literally defenseless.
You may say that something of that nature would NEVER happen here, but guess what the people of Germany thought before it happened? No one ever thought something so horrific could happen, but it did. As long as humans exist, evil will exist, on every level possible, from trailer trash to corrupt politicians.
I own guns and I always will own guns... I would never use my guns for evil, they are here to protect me, my friends, and my family... and even people like you.
Lets think for a second. Lets say that someday all guns were banned in the USA and everyone had to give them up... You think this would help the USA in terms of crime? If you do think that you have some very flawed logic. Most guns used in crimes are not the property of a registered owner that got it from a legit source, the guns that are out there and being used against our citizens are mainly stolen and black market weapons...
Put yourself in the place of a criminal, lets say you're going to rob a house, and you know for a fact that the house on the left is filled with anti-gun folks so you know they don't have a gun, and house in the right is owned by me, or someone like me. Which house would you rob? Only a fool would rob mine.
The only way the gun ban thing would work is if someone you could magically make every gun on the PLANET disappear someone at the same exact time so that NO ONE has guns, but as long as criminals have guns, I'm always going to be a step ahead of them and have 20 guns.
I hope you learned something from that. Most people who are anti-gun are that way because they are ignorant and scared, and from ignorance comes fear.
Believe it or not, I used to not like guns and was scared of them (because of the war in the former yugoslavia where I lost a lot of family and friends), that was at about age 11 or 12... Then I started learning about them, shooting them, and well, now I own a website called www.gunatics.com

Voting to ban guns would be unconstitutional and would be thrown out faster then you can say "thrown out"
but the anti gun people can do so much to make it so hard to own or enjoy firearms.
1. retro-active banning.
2. making ammo so hard to buy or banning them completely. what good is a gun without ammo?!? (scariest scenario here for me...)
3. banning certain types or calibers (read: AB50)
the brady bunch people now just gained one hell of an ally. even if barry obama doesnt do anything to hurt the 2nd directly, he can appoint supreme court justices (hello justice bill or hitllery klinton????)
