I don't think he's that far from what it's worth.

Chassis, $6k (it's clean)
STi engine and wire harness $3.5k
STi transmission, dif, axles $3.5k
Brembos front and rear $1k
04 BBS $800
STi steering wheel with airbag $200
STi suspension and knuckles $700

That's just a partial list. There is also the ECU, possibly a STi steering rack and what ever else the guy doesn't know is on the car.

15k for 135k miles and a 12 year old chassis, I'll pass haha. I see some people selling swaps for 10k.

That's your opinion. Fact is those cars hold their value.

Yup. If it had lower miles it would be nicer. But yes they are valuable and do hold value. I'm not arguing that.

You sure those $10k swapped cars weren't WRX swaps?

Some hybrids. Some STi's. I wouldn't trust a 10k swap on the sole fact of it probably being a drunk uncle garage swap.

He is correct.

Most ~8-10k swaps are for the engine and engine harness merge...Maybe a wrx transmission, but most likely not. Most people who swap in WRX motors, half *** it and stick with the RS transmission until it explodes. Hell, some people swap in STi motors and use the stock RS transmission

If you want what that CL ad is offering then his price is fair. Complete swaps, basically swapping everything from donor car to the RS is ~15-18k depending on what year was used. You get: drivetrain, engine, complete harness front to back (merged for coupe power doors), gas tank, dash (not this one though), carpet, suspension etc.

Plus 131k miles is probably the chassis miles, not engine/drivetrain mileage...could be less, could be more.

Some people just don't get it, and never will.
