Maybe the Muscle Cars street race where you live, but it doesn't happen here. It's always the ricers.

Yeah... whenever I have the temptation to mod my car I surf over to the vette forums and read their forced induction forum with post titles like "500whp supercharged bone stock!"

Then I think "wait a minute... I bought my car for 24k and I'm close to spending 20k on it... a new vette is like 44k...CRAP"

why would you even say that? hahaha

Because 600+ whp is straight UNDRIVABLE on normal everyday street tires. With LSx cars and Terminators on street tires people often run the same times at the track whether w/ 500, 600, 700whp b/c they just burn rubber and go sideways instead of accelerating

Think again. There are PLENTY of 500 whp cars that are street driven. They just don't cost $50,000 to build like a freakin' Evo or a Subaru. Get a clue before you make ignorant statements. If all they did was burn rubber and go sideways they wouldn't be running 10s would they?

News flash. How'bout you do some research on Lingenfelter Corvettes and Hennessey Vipers before you make such statements. Oh, wait, how'bout you look at Ferrari Enzos, Lamborghini Diablos (nearly 500 hp, rwd), McLaren F1s, Bugatti Veyrons, Carrera GTs, Ford GTs, new Shelby GT Mustang, 2006 Corvette Z06s, etc.

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Typical ricer excuse. "I can buy a car for $xx,xxx.00 and then throw $x,xxx.00" into it and beat a Vette! Please, spare me.

Oh, and wait a minute, at the end of the day you still have a Subaru, and someone else still has that Vette. And guess what, that Vette owner couldn't give any less of a damn how fast your freakin' SUBARU is.

actually i think he's saying that if he knew he would have this much money in a Subaru , he should have got a Vette. i don't think he's trying to say that if he mods his car he can beat a vette

Who died and made you modding god?

are you really on a subaru site, bashing subarus?

Only statement I made was about muscle cars street race as much as anything. Just look through any street racing video hosting site and you'll find tons. A subaru is a respectable car and I know plenty of people from either side that love them. As I love a fast car no matter if it's a v8 or a inline 4. As a matter a fact a modded vette rolled by us at the meet (union city) last night and asked if any of us wanted to run.

And um, didn't I read on this site about 1.5 months ago about 2 brothers with STis that went out for a race and one of'em got killed? Yeah, I think I did.

Dude, people are going to street race until the end of time. Just because you see some lame street racing website doesn't mean everyone and anyone is out racing their Muscle Cars on the street. I own one of each, and import and a domestic. I think I know from experience who does the street racing in my area.

"Modding god?" Who's talking about modding?

And oh, that's right, Subaru is the "be all end all." Is that it? So if I don't sit here and toot Subaru's horn I'm "bashing" them? Welcome back to reality, where Subarus aren't god. Get over it.

I've never hid the fact that I'm NOT a Subaru enthusiast. I'm an AUTOMOBILE ENTHUSIAST. Subaru makes THREE vehicles that I would actually own, and they are the WRX/STi, Forester XT, and Legacy GT. I couldn't care less if the rest of'em fell off the face of the Earth.

ALL of the auto manufacturers make cars I would and wouldn't own, and that includes the exotics as well.

And I'd appreciate it if you quit putting words into my mouth. It's rude.
