haha true that

I've only been to Fremont once for a meet and I don't think I'll be kicking it there again. It's less trouble to kick it somewhere closer in the East Bay.

Is this true? I can't find it anywhere on the net - is this the officer that was killed around 2.17.06?

miss info here

the "army guy" was a airman back on his R&R leave from iraq, hes still alive and the sheriff’s deputy is black, is still on paid leave, and his dad "was" the former police chief in Compton. this also not the first time this deputys been in trouble. so far nothing has been done about all this and it was all caught on tape. they say the analysis of the video will take 4-6 months the airman has hired a lawyer and is making his case against the city for big bucks.

the video can be seen here

and as for the CHP officer that died i drove past the scene moments after it happened (way to work/have a pic on my cel) and saw him dead, he also was one of my friends neighbor (badge heavy cop). the suspect being held has entered a not guilt plea and they have no real hard evidence that he was the shooter.

best advice if your stopped...
turn off the car
roll all windows down
take the key out
turn your interior lights on
keep your hands on the steering wheel (dont go looking for reg. till asked)
and just be cool

There's no law against modding your car. If it's 50-state legal, they can't do sh*t about it. There is no proof that having a spoiler on your car makes you a street racer. This is without a doubt one of the dumbest thing I've ever heard, aside from each and every time George Bush addresses the country.

Now quit worrying about it.

the only thing that really pisses me off every time i think of and see subbies being pulled over is that i have yet to see a mustang or as a mather of fact any other domestics getting pulled over. its always the imports. i mean wtf. i understand "pay to play" and i will be more than happy to pay for any tickets that i get as a result of road stupidity and illegal mods but come on. first you have motorcycles being exempt from the muffler noise levels. and now you get cops profiling on the imports. in the past 3 months all but 2 or 3 pulled over modified vehicles i've seen are all imports... mostly subbies and evos.

I love having out of state plates.

I dont get it that they are cracking down on modded imports, but I see tons of trucks that are lifted above the legal limit with huge loud exhauts and they never seem to be messed with.
Can you say profiling...

Yeah, these days I see more raised trucks and suvs than slammed vehicles. I hate it because they have no type of mud flaps whatsoever so they throw up things from the road, and it's a biotch to see over them in traffic.

There is way too much other crap going on in the bay for modified cars to be anywhere close to the top of the priority list for the police. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with mostly legal mods and a tune. I'd like to have a kind word with the officer about profiling if I did get pulled over too.

Maybe it's not the Camaros and the Mustangs because they aren't the ones racing.

When I used to cruise the strip it was always the little ricers that were racing. The Muscle Car guys hung out in parking lots and talked cars, all the while being entertained by the plethora of 16 second cars "whizzing" by at full throttle.

Yep, we'd all hang out at the custard stand (Hwy 100, Milwaukee, WI) and watch the ricers do flybys and race each other. The cops never bothered ANY of us. In fact, the cops would stop in and always ask for assistance with identifying the little street racing critters.

There was one instance where someone was robbed at gunpoint for their stereo equipment one evening. A cop pulled in and was asking if we knew who the guy was that did it or if we saw the car (1st Generation MR2). Nobody knew who he was but we gave the cop our words that we would keep an eye out. Sure enough, as soon as he started back to his car, someone spotted the car and said, "There's your man right there!"

The cops knew who the street racers were and who was out just having a good time.

It only takes a few bad apples to ruin the bunch. That's why they're cracking down on the imports instead of the domestics. The domestics are fast enough that they take it to the track.

Wrong. Motorcycles are not exempt. Furthermore, the sportsbikers whine about this as much as the modded car crowd do.

Why would I say it? Because it's true. That's why. There isn't a (stock) freakin' Japanese import that's EVER been produced that could even touch an LS1 Camaro in a straight line. Don't even bring up the Skyline R34 or the Supra, because they both ran in the mid 13s at best.

Maybe the Muscle Cars street race where you live, but it doesn't happen here. It's always the ricers.
