Sorry but the site's been featured on slashdot.org and the bandwidth is through the roof. We've had to take it down to preserve the sanity of our web host.

Come back in a few hours. Thanks!

On a case by case scenario. Some are pure criminals while others simply were overcome by their own curiosity in what they were pursuing. Unfortunately in the cyberworld a flight of endevour can take you from scientist to criminal in one line of code.

Some of those people on there were merely criminals, others were explorers who went a fe feet to far never intending to hurt anyone or anyones profits. And if it wasnt for some of them the place we call the net wouldnt be what it is today (for better or worse).

In the case of Adrian Lamo, he broke into networks then contacted the companies about there security flaws.

Hate to say it but the best way to get companies to fix security holes is to exploit them.

While i dont fully agree i do see the value in certain actions if they are taken responsibly.

I was talking more about the exposing of certain vectors of attack that werent thought of before or werent given enought attention (Social engineering and mitnick, etc etc)

Sometimes it takes a fall guy to get across a point.
