If it has a CARB sticker on it, it is California SMOG legal when installed on the intended platform. This means that if a cop issues a ticket for something that is clearly CARB excempt, he should be pursued and given the full penalties under law.

Incorrect. CARB EO# means that is legal for on road use in CA. I had several runins with cops with my previous car(v6 accord) and I loved it because they could never do ****.

"Pop the hood"
"Yeah ok"
"WTF you can't have a supercharger"
"Carb EO# right there"
"Oh, well, you can't have an intake"
"wrong again, carb EO # right there"
"AHAH! no headers allowed!!!!"
"bzzzt, try again, another CARB EO number right there"
"well...does your exhaust have one too??"
"yep, more comptech, would you like to see the paperwork"
"Have a nice day"
"Hold on a second can I have your badge number please"
"ummm I just got a call, have a good day"

I didn't get his badge number but I did get the car number and was later able to track him down and file a complaint against him. One complaint won't do anything though. If everyone complains and complains above the local PD we might get our voice out and help to stop this piracy.

Granted I was running an "offroad" pulley and a stand alone EMS, but he was too stupid to notice, and didn't pull me over for that.

The thing that pissed me off in this instance was he pulled me over for my exhaust because he speculated that it was illegal, then commenced to violating my rights but I was more than happy to rub his nose in the ish so I let him have a ball. My exhaust was legal, so he had no reason to pull me over.

Can they pull a "well you were black so I thought you were a criminal" when they pull you over? How about "you look asian so you must be in the triad"? Then why do we allow "well your exhaust looked illegal". People need to grow a pair of ***** and stand up against these corrupt thieves. There are good police that have better things to do with their patrols, but there are many many of them that abuse their power, and I will not stand for it.

Ive been arguing that point for probably a year now....nice to see someone else is catching on and using that example.

Yesterday at work I was watching as a customer was talking to a cop in a squad car. She must have known him because they were just chatting. In the 10ish minutes he was sitting there, on the clock, talking to her, I saw a honda with a fart cannon go zooming by (25mph zone) I heard him coming and then when he got about to the front of the store he gave it more gas. I also saw a porsche doing the same thing....cop didnt do ****. I'm guessing it was the same cop I saw last week standing talking to two young girls for 10-15 minutes after his car had been sitting there for 40ish minutes while he was in the deli down the street.
