How do AEM cold air intakes effect the WRX

How do AEM cold air intakes effect the WRX? I have heard from a friend that they can make the engine run lean, is this true.

on a stock wrx, they don't provide you any power gains

there's a search option in the home page. try it and u'll find out that there's tons of threads about it stating that it doesn't give u any gain, no peak gains, no nothing gains, but there is like power loss instead. give it a try.

it leans out your car too much and you lose boost. I just talked to an engineer that works with both XS and K&N and both companies state that NO gains have been made and they expect a 20hp loss on the sti when the aem or any other is put on a stock, un modified ecu.
