It's stupid how cops aren't around when sh*t goes down and someone's car gets jacked or hit. Yet, they're around to write up a parked car with some stupid violation.

As for the parking lot issue, the police do have jurisdiction in parking lots where there is a general right to pass issued to all of the public (this goes for schools, shopping centers, and any other place where all public is welcome/generally have a right to pass). If it were a truly private parking lot then they do not have jurisdiction unless they are requested by the property owner or an agent of this owner. So don't go running traffic signs/signals, or parking illegally in public parking areas even though they are on private land.
Good advice. Police can and do venture onto private property such as schools and apartment complexes and gated communities when called upon to do so. They can cite and tow away vehicles parked in fire lanes, abandoned vehicles, or those without current registration tags.
Sorry to those who've been cited for no front plates, tinted front windows, loud exhaust, ride height too low, etc. It's just the way things are unless the laws are changed.

AS Per CA VEHICLE CODE ;

You'll lose in court, unfortunately. It's not how we interpret the CA Vehicle Code, it's how the judge does.

I think only motorcycles and some classes of commercial vehicles are issued one plate in CA, the rest of us all get issued 2, so your interpretation might not stand up to legal scrutiny.
Last time I got one for no front LP, it was a fix-it, but I think they upped it to a fine a couple of years ago.

I don't see how it would stand up citing a parked car with nobody present. How do they know that while the car was parked someone did not steal the plate? It happens, and its not your fault. Just a thought.

It states that when two license plates are issued for A vehicle, meaning a specific vehicle. If joe butt crack is issued one plate and you are issued two, you are still legally required to use two because you were issued two. The only legal leg you have to stand on is IF they only gave you one.
Seriously dude, why are you complaining about this. It's not like you didn't know it was the law. You make fun of a policeman for doing his job. You broke the law, he gave you a ticket... that is his JOB.
If you're going to knowingly break the law, you should be fully prepared to pay the consequences. In this case it should just be a fix-it ticket and a small processing fee, not a huge deal, you're blowing it way out of proportion.
actually I got one too but it was for the better.
Most of those are fixits, put the plate on and take it to a crop to sign off.
I was parked in front of a church witha a sign that said "No parking 200 dollars fine" and I think the cop gave me just the ticket for no front liscence plate to be nice!

No, they should not be able to cite you for that. I would go to the judge an explain the ridiculousness of the whole issue.
Cops are not funded by the taxpayer as a revenue generating agency. It ****ing pisses me off that our fine and $hitty liberal society has turned them into meter maids.
Go catch some killers or car jackers you donut eaters!
