At 63mph I'm tach-ing 3000rpm. So I'm slightly above that at 65. This is the standard edition gearset, ofcourse. The special edition allows you to retain your 4th and 5th gear ratios.

Do you highway a lot? Since I'm wondering what kind of gas mileage you get with the lower ratios. Since my ~ 25 mpg I like.

I try not to drive the freeways that often, I like the backroads better. You know, I have never really calculated my gas mileage accurately, but if I take it easy, I can get 350 miles on a stock WRX tank. Although I see 300 frequently. My gas mileage shouldn't have changed that much since I got the gears, since I usually drove 75-80mph on the freeway before, and now I go 55-60. And you haveto figure in an UNTUNED uppipe, tbe, and lightened fly to the gas mileage I'm getting. I would assume I will be getting better mileage once I get EM.

I need to pick up a good radar detector. I commute roughly 500 freeway miles a week

that "memo" has to be fake. there's no way the CHP would use the word "frenzy" in an official document. come on people, apply a little common sense!

Snopes is really the place to look before you even consider believing something like that. As a wise man once said:

That's not bad at all. I would pass on special edition though. I really don't like 4th gear on my 02 wrx. It just is too weak. How much total did you spend on that gear set including installation? And where did you have it done?

Thanks

RA gears when installed should get/come with another speedo gear to correct the actual MPH. We use to build them with the correct speedo gear, but now no one wants to sell RA sets to us.lol.
