You all need to file complaints. Local news channels love this stuff. You all have good stories.

But remember. Dont give them a reason in the 1st place. If they do stop you. Dont be rude. Just know the less you say the better, And they will use what every you say against you.

i can't stress more that cops need to be doing more productive ****. the time they waste writing us stupid tint tickets, bov tickets, exhaust tickets, people are selling drugs, getting killed, getting into accidents, and again, they are writing us stupid *** tickets. it's funny how they'll pull you over for have 35% tint cuz of the car we drive, but a mom in a benz with 15% they leave her alone. if i was a cop/chp, none of these stupid modification bullsh1t would ever be a problem as long as you're not doing anything dumb, but then again, i would never want to be one of them.

(for those cool cops that actually let us enjoy our mods on the road, this post isn't for you.)

most newbie cops like to take the time for modified cars throughout the first 2 years. The longer they are in; it's more officer discretion. For example: I won't pull you over for a loud exhaust. But If I catch you speeding, and your not honest, I'd cite you for your speed and exhaust.

HERE ARE THINGS TO EASE THE VIOLATION

1. PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY

2. TURN OFF YOUR VEHICLE AND PUT THE KEYS ON THE DASH.

3. TURN ON YOU DOME LIGHTS IF HOURS OF DARKNESS

4. LEAVE YOUR HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WITH YOUR PALMS FACING UP! AND IF YOU HAVE PASSENGERS, HAVE THEIR PALMS FACING UP ON THEIR LAP " VERY IMPORTANT.

5. DON'T HAVE YOUR ID, REG, INSURANCE READY IN YOUR HAND. (COPS HATE IT WHEN THEY PULL YOU OVER AND YOUR MOVING AROUND ALOT BEFORE THE STOP.) HAVE IT PREPPED SOMEWHERE IT IS ACCESSABLE; SO WHEN HE ASK YOU CAN GIVE IT TO HIM/HER.

i'm actually confused on like let's say you're in the carpool lane on the highway, and a cop shines his lights, and there's a bigggg space to the left of you like 280 N where there's that big opening to the left where u want to pull over, but i heard if you do that they'll give u a ticket, so you're gnna have to signal all the way to the right, then you find that you don't have any space to pull over, so can someone clear that situation up?

Yea I feel all you guys on keeping your mouth shut about your mods but you know how testy law men get when they think your toying with their intelligence,so I decided to tell a little of the truth not all the truth in hopes of not turning a bad situation into a complete disaster.

Oh well live and learn right.

Always pull to the right. It's dangerous to pull to the left. Since your right next to the fast lane. As long as he see's you pulling to the right wait for a good spot then pull over.

I said it somewhere else recently, police work is 60% revenue collection and 40% crime fighting. It's really easy, how do you think most cops would like to spend their 10 hours? Going toe to toe with drug dealers armed better than they are, or pulling over kids in imports? At the end of the day they have bosses who look over their productivity just like you and I. It's much easier for them to appear being productive enforcing BS equipment laws than actually going to the hot spots for real criminal activity.

That of course only applies to city law enforcement....as far as the CHP? Ha, AAA with a gun. It's tough being the red headed step child of real LEOs.

So the CHP said he was pulling me for my paper plates aka dealer plates. He asks if I have my plates I said yes but I just have not put them on yet and that they are in the trunk. So he runs my name,dl,reg, ect, and it is all clean so he decides to start asking me what I have done to my car like bigger turbo and blow off valve.

So I tell him a few things that I have done intake, catted exhaust system and wheels.I also point to my blow off valve since I have no scoop on my hood now due to my accident and he say oh! is that the blow off valve? He did not even know where and what to look for even if he wanted to write me up for it.

He said the my jic exhaust didn't sound to loud so he was not worried about it but reminded me his ears were not decible meteres and it very well could be illegal. So after it is all said and done a got a fix it ticket for no plates front and rear.To be honest he was actually cool attitude wise but I can see how some guys really try to give you the buisness for your mods.

So my question is what are the most common things you have been harassed for as far as mods go,because it really seemed like he was only focused on my turbo and b/o valve and how loud my exhaust was, didn't look for a fmic,or the fact my car was lowered or the carb sticker on my intake. So I am just interested in what you guys have gone through with the popo.

FAIL

I have been pulled over by CHP many times for speeding, when I was younger, and they never gave me a problem about my car and I have a HKS Carbon-Ti cat back. When I moved to Elk Grove the PD there pulled me over five times in the first month of me living there. I dont speed anymore. Each time it was wow your car is loud here is a ticket. I went to the state ref and passed. When I lived in the bay I never had any problems with profiling.

i just put my ssqv back on, hopefully i don't get popped. would the cop send u to state ref juss cuz u have an exhaust? or would he have to find something pertaining to emissions? im sure he'll think the bov disrupts emissions, so i wouldn't want the little bov to send me to ref. so will exhaust get u sent to ref or jss fix it?

Actually I didn't fail because I did not get a ticket for any of my mods, and I only told him the stuff that would be obvious if he made me pop my hood. You obviously have never been caught in a lie by a cop it is no fun.

I didn't know it was illegal to have stiff suspension. I only have heard of being too low. IDK sounds like bs to me.
