CHP harassment
So today I got pulled over getting on to the freeway at whipple&101 leaving Carlsen Subaru,which had my right side fender and hood lock assy in stock and are the last parts I need before I can make an appointment with the body shop to get my baby lookin ******* again
So the CHP said he was pulling me for my paper plates aka dealer plates.He asks if I have my plates I said yes but I just have not put them on yet and that they are in the trunk.So he runs my name,dl,reg,ect, and it is all clean so he decides to start asking me what I have done to my car like bigger turbo and blow off valve.
So I tell him a few things that I have done intake,catted exhaust system and wheels.I also point to my blow off valve since I have no scoop on my hood now due to my accident and he say oh! is that the blow off valve?He did not even know where and what to look for even if he wanted to write me up for it.
He said the my jic exhaust didn't sound to loud so he was not worried about it but reminded me his ears were not decible meteres and it very well could be illegal.So after it is all said and done a got a fix it ticket for no plates front and rear.To be honest he was actually cool attitude wise but I can see how some guys really try to give you the buisness for your mods.
So my question is what are the most common things you have been harassed for as far as mods go,because it really seemed like he was only focused on my turbo and b/o valve and how loud my exhaust was,didn't look for a fmic,or the fact my car was lowered or the carb sticker on my intake.So I am just interested in what you guys have gone through with the popo.

Sorry to hear, but the CHP is the worst.
When I was in the police academy EVERYONE there would talk **** about the CHP, that includes our instructors. Apparently the CHP and city cops don't get along with each other at all. They told us that if we ever got pulled over by the CHP to NOT tell them that you are a city cop because you're guarenteed to get a ticket that way.
Yeah, its like real life super troopers. No joke.

Yeah I'm not young and dumb and wasn't doing anything wrong,he actually went out of his way to pull me over as he was not in the turn lane for the on ramp.

i know what you mean by CHP particularly looking for turbo mods... as for myself, i was recently pulled over a few nights ago for having a modified exhaust.
upon getting pulled over, he does the typical questioning, "do you know why i pulled you over?"... "what exhaust is that?"...."what performance modifications have you done to enhance your vehicle?"..... "blah blah blah..."
i told him that i had a generic aftermarket no-namer exhaust installed and also installed a better resonator to keep the noise level downs..... and i told him that my engine was bone stock with the exception of a panel filter. he asks me how much power is my engine pushing out.. i told him only 165hp. he then starts talking about how can a sti produce such low numbers... he was looking for something along the 300hp figures i guess. i told him that i dont have a sti... i have a non-turbo legacy. he asks me why do i have a hoodscoop if i dont have a turbo... i explain to him its for aesthetics purposes only.... and then i offer him to show him my engine if he doesnt believe me. the officer then asks "are you trying to be smart with me? do you want me to arrest you right now for resisting arrest?" ..... i was completely taken back by this and just shut my mouth after...
after everything said and done... he left me off with a warning and told me to not be so disrespectful to a peace officer next time....

You didnt have a hood on?
Its the 1st of summer. They are doing their rice bowl round up. Looks like missing a hood flagged the chpsans.
I took my carbon stuff off. Didnt want to stand out and get stopped.

Ive only been harassed by SF state cops. They are bastards. SFPD and CHP are pretty cool with me. I still make it a point to roll down my front windows everytime I see them rolling by though. I even had a SFPD cop on a dirt bike roll up to my window just to tell me nice car and that the exhaust sounded like "bat out of hell"

Just the hood scoop was off,it is broken from my accident
