CAUTION BAIC! - CHP is getting sneaky

The issues that arise are more to do with whether you have to stop for an unmarked/unidentified car. You are required to stop for 'clearly marked' patrol vehicles driven by identifiable officers. But what defines clearly marked? They argue that the red/blue strobes are enough.

Just wait till they put up a ton of speed cameras like in the U.K. There are already at least a few trials up in the U.S. I seem to remember a sign somewhere out by the Nevada border (heading to Vegas).
I also saw a news report a few weeks ago about a camera (out of state) that was just put into service. The officer said something about believing the camera would produce 1000+ tickets daily (or some number like that).

i saw a new f250 or f350 yesterday on 85 by just north of 17. was black and had a camper shell.. no lights on top but it had the huge star on the door. not too sneaky.
these days i suspect ALL american cars of being cops.

I was pulled over once in downtown San Jose by a couple undercovers in a ratty *** American car and plain clothes. They seemed very aware that they needed to show me ID.
i just got pulled over today on 7th street downtown, not by a mustang though, by bike cops on foot hiding behind cars with their radars. I got pulled for speeding but was let off with a no seatbelt ticket (passenger wasn't wearing one) . Saw a blue subaru pass by, be careful on 7th guys. A europrojectz bimmer got pulled too.

I may be incorrect but if I remember correctly, the CHP or any law enforcement for that matter can't cite you in an unmarked vehicle. The vehicle must have markings on the doors of the vehicle. If you are pulled over by an unmarked vehicle, you can request that a marked unit issue the citation (I'm sure that will make them happy).
The CHP used to have Mustang LX V8's and Camaro's as patrol cars that were painted unconventional (non-white and not b&w) colors but they had the CHP emblem on the doors and they had the exempt plates.

I believe you don't have to pull over, say if you get busted in Golden Gate Park. You need to indicate that you see the officer, hazards would probably be okay, and drive slowly obeying all traffic laws until you reach a safe place... police station, etc.

If that was a WRX you could have had the tranny broken in a day. To be honest, anyone could brake a manual tranny on any car within a week if they really wanted to.

It was a rental, so it came with an auto. They're so damn cheap. It looks like the shifter on a toddler's toy.
I really love abusing rentals. One thing I have to admit. That was the king at donuts in gravel.
I'd imagine the GT, like the STi, has a solid tranny.
