At least the left the hardware... I'm going to weld the replacement. I'd rather have them try and cut it.
Theft is on the rise for the holiday 2 of my neighbors was broken in to, but there was nothing for them to take, so no lost there. and This Saturday when I was driving back from the San Jose midnight cruse, I was jamming home and right when I turn on to Suncrest ave I saw a guy trying to open a door on a car on the street and looked up and saw me and he ran and jump behind a bush, so I just parked behind the car he try to break in and pretended I was calling someone on the cell phone just to make him think im calling the police.

That sucks your Cat was stolen, I didn't think there was enough room under the car for them to do that with out putting on jacks.

Even if I had a catalytic converter my car would be too low to even get an arm in.

I've heard of this happening in the valley for a few years now. Toyota Tundras were a popular hit because they had very high platinum content and were tall enough to get in and out without problems.

It was off my 94 pick up. I never thought this type of theft would happen to me. I'm bummed it's going to be like $250 to replace it, which sucks because it's the holidays!

That really blows man. It was really bad here in Campbell last year. Customers were coming to me with missing cats and holes in gas tanks around the holiday season. Another reason to park in the driveway and drive a lowered vehicle.

My German Shephard would bark up a storm if anyone stayed on the driveway for more than 10secs.

yeah a buddy of mine had his old 4runners cat stolen just the other night.
It was stolen previously about 2 years ago also. It really sucks for people with higher cars so these thieves have such easy access.

But i wonder if welding a cat back on would help, if they really wanted it, im sure they can grab a portable electric saw. Then again thatd make a lot more sound.

The thieves were hitting the ACE train station in Tracy for quite a few months. They had a portable electric sawzall and would steal them off anything big enough to reach under. Police finally started patrolling the area more often and it's slowed down a lot.
