Car starts but dies

Well this afternoon I had a little problem with starting up my car.. it starts and the idle drops then dies. After doing that about two times, I reved it up a bit after I started and it's all good. Right now it idles at 500rpm.. seemed kinda low, but has never failed to start ever since..

What could have possibly caused that to happen?

check if your air filter and/or maf are wet
if either is wet dry them and try starting again.

could be a lot of things, check for dampness around ignition coil(s), check for vacuum leaks. I would even check the idle control valve.

is it in loop mode (cruise control light on)? One time I washed my car, it got wet because the cam position sensor clip had been cracked by prev owner and got water in it that wouldn't evaporate. Also maybe if the key chip gets messed but thats ends up being no turning over at all in my experience.

Well it has not happened ever since yesterday. But something has got to be wrong and I want to know before I get stranded in the middle of no where..

I don't know about the fuel pump.. it's suppose to stop when the car shuts down right?

It was wet and cold yesterday. Yeah the fuel filter on the 03 is next to the window washer canister under the hood. I dont' remember when was the last time I swap that out....

Not the temp outside. Does the engine have issues starting when the engine is hot or cold?

it will run for 5 seconds right when you turn on the key, and then run again while the engine is running.
