sprained or broken thumb?
sprained or broken thumb?
mud football. thumb hurts like hell, super limited motion.thing that worries me is when i put pressure on my middle figer tip it hurts my thumb quite a bit. on a good note its not swollen much yet.
yep. Thanks! took a vico and a bath and its doing a lot better since ice pack/bath. Was just worried because i have some arthritis in my hands at 24, never had an injury that affected by moving other fingers.
But it should be all gewd!

Just get a splint on it and you will be fine and that's all a doctors office will do anyways.. At least its not your hand since that is a pain in the ***. It might be broken because its not swollen since when i broke a few toes they were not swollen but my my toenails got hella nasty looking.
If you got coverage for it, it wouldn't hurt you much if you have a copayment on going to get xrays. I thought I had a sprained finger but went in anyways b/c it started to turn black and blue after a day. Went in, found out that a piece of my bone was ripped off my finger with the tendon that connects to it. I could move it perfectly fine and everything, it didn't even hurt at all really.
Unless you want to take the risk of losing any mobility in that finger I would go in and have a professional take a look instead of asking a bunch of impreza owners what they think. lol. Also its important to note that there are universal splints, but there are a number of ways to properly splint a bone based on where the break is and which way its broken. I don't think you need to ask me how I found this out the wrong way.

Lol, I think your thumb is okay. But in case I'm wrong and your thumb is really ****ed, I'm not responsible.
Hope that helped.

Id say its probably fractured and its going to hurt for months unless you get it splinted.
Ive broken thumbs and fingers before. I could move them, but there was constant pain and pressing on a certain part made it really hurt.
A couple of times, they discovered a small fracture. They splinted it and away I went. The thumbs are both heald but my right index finger and right ring finger, I never went in on and the index finger hurts 8 months later and the ring finger has limited flexibility.

If you can find out which way you think your finger bent in the wrong way you can determine the best "guesstimate" on how to splint it. For example when I broke my finger, it got bent backwards and so an area where the bone chipped off there was significant bruising/discoloration and a white mark where the bone and the tendon were hitting the skin... so I had to put a splint on the finger that didn't allow my finger to curl down (make it so you can't make a fist)... some people are opposite but any immobilization is better than none.
