Impact speed = your cousins' speed subtracted from the speed of the car that hit him...
yeah, that looks way more like a 10mph hit that a 40mph crash. Def not salvaged from what I see, though obviously there could always be more than you see from a couple small pics.

But for reference, heres what 40mph crashes looks like, definitely in the lethal zone, yeah no way thats you guys.

EDIT: btw, the exhuat looks more like 5-6 inches back, 2 feet would be in front of the rear tires

The 10 mph makes senses but BE cousin said it was a hard hard. I don't know the exact speed. Basically what he told me was that he got hit but a 3000GT and the ran under him. The other guy got his hood bent "pretty bad" those were his words.

STIforfun, that was my old apexi N1 catback.

i believe him cuz i was at a red light on my 1992 maxima when a girl in an accord hit me going 45. she was texting and didnt see the light.

my bumper was completely normal except scratches and my exhaust was pushed in as well. her car went under mine and was totaled due to excessive engine damamge. her car also had a bent hood, smashed bumper. my car drove home fine, i just had to go to a chiropractor for the next 3 months. from what i remember from the accident, she went under me, and pushed me forward, so i hit the car in front of me then bounced back and hit her again.

LOL - welcome to the new Hummer!! Since the Chinese took over Hummer, I'm certain this is going to be the quality of the product. It'll look good from the outside, but if something happens - it's simply their version of population control.

If the at-fault party speaks English, has a valid license, and has insurance, I would consider your cousin to be "lucky". His best bet is to go through insurance.

My motorcycle was damaged by an illegal. Not fun to deal with at all...
