Can someone who has installed a Greddy FMIC comment on this?

I had the hyper flow engine bay pipes, but not the lower hoses that go down through the fender and around the radiator to the IC, I sourced a bunch of Mandrel bends from my old shop so all I had to buy were the silicone hose and clamps off ebay.

There are many things to think about when choosing an intercooler, but the main one is design and the flow characteristics inherent with that design. The Blitz and Greddy models are simply welded together intercoolers, with no real thought as to airflow or even distribution throughout the core.

As for the pressure drop/lag FMIC/TMIC debate it's all relavent to the turbo sizing and amount of air needing to pass through the piping.
Your dead on regarding the intake manifold setup, Impreza I think did this and I know of a couple of my mates back in the UK with the same design (non are the real McCoy WRC units tho all have been hand fabbed).
I remember seeing Chaste Auto selling a actual WRC FMIC and Rad setup although it was a little pricey but for anyone willing to pay the coin of the ARC IC new then it would be affordable.

Well, I think on a dyno (for the most part) the stock TMIC will always outperform aftermarket TMIC's because it has less mass to heat soak. Less mass=quicker cool down. I think in the real world the avo topmount (with a water spray perhaps) would always beat the stock TMIC and would (IMHO) be a better choice than the greddy or blitz

I ran over 25psi on a T67 and never had any issues with the hose clamps or silicon connectors. I do want to get better camps, jus because they are easier to take off and put back on.

Imprezer isn't running the same greddy ic you are thinking of, he has the R-SPL core which is much larger than the WRX IC which is mass production
