Can someone who has installed a Greddy FMIC comment on this?
I copy and paste
"To be honest, I found the install on the Greddy very straight-forward and easy. I did't want to claim that it is easy compared to the APS or Hyperflow ones, for 2 reasons:
First, with Greddy, you need to either cut or throw away the bumper-beam. I threw it away when I saw how much would need to be cut (No flames bout this please, I've heard it enough before). In reality there's nothing left of the beam if it is to fit the IC so I figured to just save it in stock form for if I ever sold the car.
Second, you need to get a BOV flane welded onto the Greddy piping. This is $30-$50 at your local shop; not a big deal, but it should be mentioned.
Finally, in regards to extra parts, you're probably thinking of my post where i said you should change out the 2 Greddy reducers for higher-quality silicon ones. I would consider this a mandatory step, as the Greddy ones crack and split. Total cost there is under $50.
On that note, the greddy install is identical to APS, TXS, Blitz, Perrin etc. The whole thing took 5 hours or so on the side of the road w/hand-tools.
"
What is that Silicon reducer and where can I find them?

dont have a greddy, have the hyperflow, but a couple things...
1 you will have to cut the bumper beam or use a JDM/UK beam, I dont know how this guy is running no beam since this is where the majority of the important clips that mount the bumper are located, scary.
2. definitly get good silicone hose, also throw out those cheap screw type hose clamps and get heavy-duty T-bolt clamps as pictured, nothing SUCKS more than chasing down boost leaks, worse yet having a hose blow off and your car dying in the middle of a busy street(ask me how I know!

actually I'm running without a bumper beam.. Haven't had time to chop the JDM beam... bumper stays on the car just fine.
as for the clamps, unless you're running some crazy high boost, as long as you make sure the clamp is placed behind the bead on the piping all around, you'll be fine. Of course the nicer clamps is a good idea, but pretty damn pricy..
as for the "reducer". it just increase the piping size from the turbo outlet to the throttle body, you'll be fine using the stock stuff, not a big deal.

I agree on those clamps...VEY NICE!!!! There is a place in San Jose that sells them...they are expensive ($4+ or so), but worth it.
I am not running a bumper beam either. After it is cut...there is not much left anyway. Plus if you get hit in the fron....everything it toast anyway. SAVE TIME, put it away for later.
ATP sells Silicon hoses that should fit. Did you already buy the Greddy FMIC? or are you thinking about it?

you can get T-bolt clamps at any hydrolic equipment supplier for about $3 each, or look up "turbo clamp" on Ebay motors. No, you may never blow a hose or have a clamp failure, but if your installing a 1000-1500 fmic an extra 30-40 bucks for bullet-proof clamps that you will never have to worry about seems completely reasonable

yeah, but all that comes off when you cut it. There should be (2 or 4) clips, 1 or 2 on each side...by the headlights. (Cant remember)...anyway, plus the lips on the side by the fender, that should hold it on. You DONT need all the ones on top.
Plus if you leave that part on, where it clips in on top, the FMIC wont fit....therefore it comes off

yea i'm also running no bumper beam on my car. As far as the 6 plastic clips, the bumper stays on just fine without them. You can wiggle the bumper a little but there are still the clamps on the side that hold it very securely.

You supposed to leave the top part where the bumper cover clips into, and the intercooler will fit under. This is basically what the JDMs are like

the greddy on doesnt fit like that picture. the plastic bumper sits on the intercooler. i just cut my beam into two pices. so its on each side of the intercooler works fine. the bumper doesnt move at all.

I agree that your best served keeping the top bumper plate there regardless of 02-04 but it will work fine without if you don't want to take the extra 30 mins to cut around it or replace it with the JDM piece.

I'm thinking about spending 1000 dollars on a cooling based upgrade. Thought about an upgraded radiator+used TMIC, or Greddy FMIC, which I'd buy used w/ a BOV already welded, and get a short ram intake (I'll need one, right?)
So....I guess a die grinder would do the job... what are you guys using to cut the bumper beam?
