Uh..no. That's a little too "DIY" savy for me and way too much work calling junkyards. I can live with a $100 deductable from my insurance company. A window is something I leave to the pros.

"I" personally wouldn't know what I was doing and insurance was covering most of the cost anyway. It's done. Elmer from Premiere Auto Glass hooked it up. Now I have a passenger side window again! Very thorough work and I'd rather not tear apart my own door and deal with all that shattered glass (finding it all, cleaning the insides of the door, etc), power window mechanicals, and such. Plus, I don't have the tools to do it.

on subarus its not. i learned the hard way. when my driver's side window was broken i shopped around and got the best price (about $80 cheaper than other places at this shop in west oakland. glasspro or something. well, after waiting about 4 hours for them to put it on, i took off and it sounded like my window was open. i look up and i see about a 1/2" gap b/w the glass and the molding! i take it back, another 45 minutes, and the gap is gone but when i jump on the freeway, i hear wind noise! i take it back a few days later and they "fix" it, most of the wind noise is gone, but i can still hear it if i go over 70 (which is alot for me).

i take it to another shop in el cerrito to see if they can adjust it, they don't even want to touch it! they tell me that the only way they will work on it is if i buy the glass from the dealer with all of the brackets pre-adjusted. apparently subaru windows have all of these brackets that can be adjusted a **** load of different ways and it can take forever to do it right if you don't know what you are doing. finally someone on this board recommended frank's auto glass in berkeley. charged me $70 for labor and i haven't heard a peep since.
