ME: Not according to the ref

What woulda happened if traffic stopped and you had to turn your car back on infront of the station? Wouldnt it have been easier to let off the gas and put it in neutral?

I apperciate you calling me a nerd, instead of something mean haha, nice to not see %*%*%*. Anyways I will say you are right about the tax and reg free, when arnold was elected i got my check back from when dick davis increased reg X3 but continued to make us ride on the beaten up roads. Basically i'm just sick of hte bureaucratic bull**** here in ca and I think whoever our governor is should quit this ****ing time/tax payer money wasting bull****.

i am curious, what if you try and coast by in neutral and the cop like summons you in. Give him the bird and p eace out??

Sure, but once they have you pulled over, it's legal context for a traffic stop. You can then be cited for any vehicle code violations they decide to write you for. Giving a CHP some lip at a roadside emissions checkpoint is an almost guarantee to get some extra scrutiny, if not a fistfull of tickets as well.

Hopefully they'll print the locations of these things in the paper or something so they can just be avoided altogether. Nothing positive will come from this, it's a fishing expedition pure and simple.

Maybe this is (was) an attempt to identify shady smog shops? They run your car and compare it to your last results. If theres a discrepancy and maybe your car is modified, it's a good indicator that someone is breaking the rules of their smog license...

On the other hand, if it's really just for comparison and "real world" testing to improve air quality, then I'd even be willing to participate if asked. Maybe your car isn't running right since your last smog and you'll have a few extra months to fix it before you GP. I haven't seen this where I live and there are a lot of modified vehicles here (bay area).
