boycott gas

Dont Buy gas on September 3rd!!!!
Boycotting the gas company will decrease the price dramatically. Ive checked into it and if over half the US didnt buy gas for 1 day, the gas companys would be close to bankrupcy!!! So Lets show them how to lower gas prices. So repost this to all your friends. We have to get the word out. Its NATIONAL DONT BUY GAS DAY!!!

read it somewhere and sounded pretty intresting

thats retarded...they wouldnt go bankrupt...cuz people would have to buy gas eventually whether its the next day or the day after.

usually cash flow in a business isn't dependent on 1 days worth of business....

this boycott is more symbolical than it is effective.

i expected the post to be a "ride your bicycle to work this month!" kind of post.

Exactly.

Consumption will be made up on following days and then some with those that chose to boycott gas. It's a really bad idea.

yeah, gas companies mught get close to bankrupcy on the 3rd, but then on the 4th when everyone who didnt buy gas on the 3rd, buys gas along with all the people that would normally buy it on the 4th, the gas companies get all their money back

face it, there is too much demand for gas to control the price through the laws of supply and demand. even if every driver drove better and more econimically, it wouldnt make a big enough difference in the gas company's profits. Also, even if people didnt buy gas, gas stations are not going to lower the price of gas below cost, or even to cost! your best bet really is to not be a gas hog

I;d imagine a swift increase in the price of gas the day after would catch them up. Plus it'd be the small stations that would be ****ed if you did that.

Well since both of my cars are out of commission I have little choice but to "join the boycott"

not that it will make a whit of difference, the oil companies are all reporting record profits and I expect they will continue to do so.
