Knoppix is a cd bootable linux os, if you set your cd rom to first boot, it boots completely off of the cd, no installation on the hdd. plus, Linux is a lot better when it comes to accessing broken hdd, in this case, only certain areas of my hdd were damaged, so it took everything out with exception of the few bad files, which is okay. It's a ***** to figure out to use at first, because linux is just to so computer techie oriented that it takes a longer time to figure out how to do mundane things that to transfer files and stuff.

you need windows nt/2000/xp.

go into drive management and do the mirroring there.

now remember, mirroring takes a few minutes each time you make and break the mirror and it requies a reboot.

but once you have a mirror going, if the primary drive fails, a simple change in the BOOT.INI file and you can boot to the mirrored drive and work can contirnue...
