yeah.... so I just lost 70 gigabytes worth of Music(25 gig) Naruto(20) Initial D(15) and Drifting/car videos(10gig).....I hate Data drives so much. The worst part is all my music, I have been collecting for like 5 years and though it's not a lot compared to some, it still blows major *** because it's hard to find that stuff anywhere off the internet

 

What no backup? Bummer

 

I bet now you will buy a back-up drive as well as a new drive to replace the one that died right?

 

hey man, i know how u feel, and im sure alot of people do. it sucks cuz u think you will ENVER EVER get those back, u know u wont get even close to what u lost. i know the feelnig, its like, u download all this stuff, and then u thikn back on it and u thikn, damn i lost it! ill enver get it back, but u know what? u'll get over it, u'll grow out of it, the music, the anime, the vids, u'll probably never watch them anyways right, u have them because u know you CAN watch it when u want to, but that feeling is gone, but its ok man!

 

the worst part is, I'm in a pact with a friend of mine, on our honor not to get blazed for a month then have a huge smokeout, and it's only been 5 days....the weather sucks, my school is cracking down or second semester seniors who don't like morning classes(like me) this year really blows.

Just take the drive(s) to a recovery place and see if you can get stuff back. As long as there was no physical contact with the read head it probably should be pretty easy.

update: I felt bad, but am feeling better about it. crappy things like this let me know the sweet joy of having access to a computer. when I think about it, I'm f-ing blessed to have such things as computers and stuff, whereas kids even in America are asking(well WERE asking)Santa for warm coats and sht like that.

dorifto88: it gets better again, but you shouldn't watch the anime, you should read the manga, it's 10X better.

 

yah i used to read the manga too, just got too damn time consuming, it got to the point where it was like doing homework ha ha.

Ouch, that sucks. My DVD-R drive was one of the best investments Ive made... Burns at 16x... I can back up a 4.6 gig CD in like 15mins. I have like 35gigs of music... Tons of rare stuff Ive gotten in Europe, and lots of stuff from the web... if I lost it all, I'd be lost.
