i printed out the rule book law on modified exhaust so if a cop asks, i will show him that, and i highlighted everything that is important. such as we are allowed to have modified exhaust if it's under 95 db and we have proof of that, so i also printed out straight from Cobb's website, that the cobb exhaust is indeed meeting the states required decibel limit, and also retains a stock look as to not draw attention to other "street racers".
they can't just throw the rulebook out the window as they see fit, they are not above the law, hell, to me, they are pieces of . yannoe.

that seems like a good idea, but i would rather bring it up first, cuz if they see it, they will think that we dont know they saw it, so they probably will keep quiet, then you look stupid like you set it up, if you go on and ask "did you read that packet i stuffed in there? ..." lol that would be embarassing.

I do the same thing, while trying to roll down my windows! From what it sounds like, they are pulling people over just by the appearance of their car, regardless if it sounds too loud. There is no question why they are doing it either. At the end of the day, the police officers are not stupid, and have a pretty good idea about what is going on out there. They can accurately assume that if a car looks modified with after-market parts from an exterior standpoint, there are probably a few goodies under the hood as well. By law, I don't think that this merits them pulling you over, but once they do, all they have to say is that your exhaust is too loud or smells rich. Maybe its time to move to Montana, where you don't have to get your car smogged, you can add pretty much any modification, and there is plenty of snow and ice to have fun with. And, that is my 2 cents for the day.
Authorities are trying some new tactics to stop street racers, including forcing repeat offenders to watch as their cars are crushed into scrap metal and using smog laws to go after people who have souped up their cars.

I think the best defense on our side that i've heard so far is that, Most of the people on here pay for their own cars, and we all work, and to show for it we have our nice cars with a few modifications on them, it's BS that we're getting ticketed and pinned for allot of the recent mod tickets

Not knowing what they're looking at is reason enough, a judge isn't going to side with you over a cop unless the evidence is simply overwhelming. All the cop has to say is "I had reason to believe...." and you're done.
