I want to get an idea of how the the cops pulling people over are profiling. Please post:

If you HAVE been pulled over:
- sedan or wagon?
- what mods can be seen from outside?
- how much louder is your car from stock?
- how were you driving?
- what did the cop say/do?

For me I have not been pulled over in this car. I drive a totally stock wagon, but with aftermarket wheels stock size(I guess you can't see those while they're spinning...). Tinted windows, stock everything else. **Baby seat**. I'm a 30 something asian male. Got a scangauge and nav mounted.

 

I have been pulled over for going 85 MPH on 280S a few months ago. I drive a 05 WRX sedan. Its lowered w/ 18" rims. My car is LOUD. I have an HKS Carbon Ti w/ catless DP AND I have a HKS BOV. I was in CRUISE chillin in the fast lane.

Mmm.. Cop pulled me over, said I was going too fast, asked if I was in a rush. I said I had class, but I wasn't in a hurry (I kind of was...) He said to slow down, asked me if I ever got a speeding ticket before. I said no. I thought I was gonna get off w/ a warning, but I got the ticket. He complimented my car. He said it was a really nice car and that I should take care of it. I just detailed it the week before.

been stared at and followed ever since I moved over to milpitas, but haven't been pulled over yet. I also don't drive like an idiot.

-its loud but not as loud as a lot of other exhausts.

been pulled over for speeding on 237wb, but only got cited for having a license plate cover.

pulled over for yellow headlights in front of milpitas high at night few months ago.

Haven't got pulled over yet, but usually when i commute on 87 usually cops around there. I could tell they're profiling cuz they're following me. Damn cops. I like my catback cuz it's looks very close to stock.

- what mods can be seen from outside? stromung dual tip cat back, 17" wheels, lowered on USDM STi pinks+kyb struts, and if you're behind me the cobb sway bar and whiteline end links
- how much louder is your car from stock? only have my 3rd cat, so it is a bit loud, but only at WOT

forgot to add, I am a pale *** white boy from Santa Cruz with a red neck tan(face, neck, and arms).

two tickets, 4 times pulled over, all for exhaust

1 was during some street racing so that was a given (ticket)
1 was throwing some revs while test driving the car and the cop heard from down the street (ticket)
1 was traveling down a rural road at 3AM (Suz driving no ticket)
1 was somewhere in salinas, can't remember (suz driving, no ticket)

 

I drive an 05 sedan was stg 4 lowered on 17's with a loud catless invidia exhaust and never got pulled over... Then I downgraded to a quieter aps exhaust and stg 2 tune and got pulled over for 57 in a 40, cop stated what I got pulled over for, I said "I'm really sorry I felt that I was doing a safe speed for the amount of traffic and the road conditions" he said "do u have any engine modifications" I said "only a muffler" he said "no intake?" ... "No sir" I said... Liscense registration and insurance... As I open my glove box my access port is the first thing sitting on top of all my papers. I give him my papers and he comes back 3 mins later and says have a nice day keep the speed down... Thanks you officer u have a good day as well. This was a chp in santa rosa and I'm a 22 white male.

4 times pulled over in this car, 4 times in california

1 time up mt hammy sherrif stopped us for "racing" let us off with a warning

1 other time i cant even remember...it must have been something minor...no ticket

1 time in tahoe, 75 in 45 and passing in center turn lane on 2 lane hwy, cop let me off *miracle*

1 time santa clara pulled over for modified exhaust (i was brake torquing to test boost) he had me pop the hood, couldnt see anything, told me my exhaust was illegal "anything i think is annoying is illegal/too loud" told me to i had to register in cali if i plan on staying here, no ticket.

ive been very very lucky. cops were either very cool or i did something right. id highly suggest some tips on getting pulled over that were published in an old import tuner mag like 5 years ago...

turn off car once you stop and put your hands on the wheel with your front windows down and stay liek that until the cop is situated and comfortable. thats peace of mind for em in a hostile world, and i think they usually appreciate it. sure some of you do this anyways, but i think this has particularly helped, so if you dont do this stuff, check it out...

 

I saw a sedan with aftermarket exhaust pulled over on 680 by an unmarked white Expedition last week.
