Not so much offended as wanting to shed some light on a commonly misunderstood and misused symbol, especially in the import community. I'm glad that OneManArmy and I could come to a consensus on the topic, and I'm glad that you appreciated the historical context of my post. Both mean a lot to me, really.

I have a suggestion about a change if it is not too late. I think that it should be from "Alameda Ca." to "Alameda, CA". The current way just does not look right for some weird reason, at least to me.

That design isn't final. If it wins... which it looks like it will, it will undergo a production process that will include type adjustments, illustration adjustments and colors. It looks like the shirt will be two colors. That illustration is 3. So I'll have to cut it down to 2 colors. It will be white and red on a black shirt.

And I'll probably throw the comma in there but I don't think I'll got CA. It'll probably read Alameda, Ca.

Yeah no kidding, we were fortunate to have had skull heads last yeah.

 

I'm not feeling all the red, anything black and blue looks good, all these shirts look like the Japan flag and i'm not really feeling that.

 

Word... I tried but it's gonna cost everyone an extra $2 a shirt to do a sleeve graphic and we didn't get the thumbs up from huck this year. Least far as I know.

 

That's the point. If you want a blue shirt you should have submitted a design.

The whole point was to integrate the fact that we are raising money for the Japan relief fund... so the request was made to integrate the colors/flag etc for japan.




I really wish people would read. This is a vote thread for the choices above. There are no other choices. NO ONE stepped up and put the time in to submit a design. There was a HUGE thread about it... including requests and comments from i-club members. Those that participated at the very least got their comments considered if not met. I'm sorry that people aren't happy. Next year submit your own designs that I'll be happy to rip apart.

I was honestly looking forward to seeing more submissions. This was not a showcase of my abilities... more of a... sure I'll toss my hat in the ring this year because I've been saying I would for years.

No one else did. So all these unhappy comments need to go away. Vote or don't vote. Purchase or don't purchase. Those are your only choices at this point.
