The color and the pattern are important. A monochromatic red sun with red rays, especially with 16 rays and especially on a white background, can be considered a kyokujitsu-ki. Huck's pictures do not depict a monochromatic red sun and its rays, nor is it used as a stand-alone symbol or as a part of militaristic, nationalistic art piece -- it is similar to the use of the sun with rays in the video game "Okami".

Even without intention it's tough to say it's not. It's like having an upside down t in a design and having people not think it's an upside down cross.

Im super cereal man. Maybe I worded it wrong. In cartoons or movies when they show giant a giant bomb explosion going off, it always looks like a spherical shockwave going outward. The giant red circle just looks like a bomb went off. anyway it was just an observation.

I voted #2 just because I wanted to join the bandwagon.
Also, I think it holds the eye the best. Travels all around the design and is not shot away from the design in any direction. Cars, to text, to bridge to stars to cars to text...

Honestly I really liked #3 the rays looked awesome and the black and red is awesome. If that is equivalent to something racist that sucks. I dont know much about the history and meaning of that so ill keep my mouth shut. So #2 would be my choice then. Great work Ray!

I dont get what the big deal is.. It's a t-shirt design. If the sun was in the middle it would be okay but since it's not in the middle it's not acceptable? Look at the votes.. I'm pretty sure it's not going to win so we can just drop this and all get along. <3
No I'm not gay but yes that is a heart at the end.
