hella tired! out to the lake today.. then happy hour... then pong...

 

Ugh, finally tossed the yeast into the beer, making my part officially done. Now the yeasties gotta do their thing! I want a nap and a burger (not in necessarily in that order).

 

so how long till its done and ready to drink?

 

October 1st including 4 weeks of conditioning in the bottles. I can crack it open a week or two before that, but that wouldn't be optimum most likely.

 

damn hella long! How much are you making?

 

5 gallons. After sacrificing some brew as to not have the sediment get into the bottles, I've been ending up with about 24 22 ounce bottles per batch.

 

nice. have you played with the taste?

 

The stout is my third batch. If it turns out well I'll brew it again for Christmas gifts, if it doesn't turn out well I'll try to tweak it for the Christmas brews. The last one I did was a Scottish Ale. It hasn't finished conditioning yet, but I tried one of them and unless something radical happens in the bottle, it's a bit underwhelming and will need some tweaking for the next time I brew it. That's part of the fun though!

 

So at least you havnt had a totally ****ty batch and sacrificed all the time/ingredients on it
