On a similarly sweet note, Alister McRae, Colin's younger brother, finished the final stage of day one of the 2000 Acropolis Rally that my wife and were spectating at on two rims (both front tires were ripped from the wheels). I'm not sure how long/far he "drove" like that, but he did make it to the end of that stage, only to retire. Just an unbelievable sight.
Oh, and Colin won that rally!!! Here's a pic I snapped at the end of the final stage of the rally He battled Sainz the entire day and the outcome of the rally was only determined on the last stage as Sainz was under team orders to "hold off" which he did not
