By the way. Thanks to Soren of MPJ for the tips. Slower is faster!
Impressive run then! Congrats! You'll have to give me a rid next race, so I can see how its done.

Do you have any suspension mods?

That was a good track, although I didn't drive as well as the previous event. Still good fun though.

I have Eibach springs, Perrin rear sways and Whiteline Strut tower bar. That's about it. The track was really fast, but it was slippery. I started out running 59 then 57 then the 55. I am glad I worked area 3, cause I learned how to exit of 2 watching people slide. You are welcome to ride as long as we have enough runs with all the ones hitching as well

You got me there, since I've only run with the RE-92s previously. As for my S-03s, I bought the car used and am going to use them until they die and then get the Azenis.

STI-owns-evo : you're gonna be impressed with the Azenis

BTW, Results are Posted. Seems my last run was a few tenths faster than I thought???? Threw out my yellow timeslips this morning at work, so no idea what the actual time was. And as in Round 1, the competition in STX is VERY close! Something tells me this class is gonna come down to the last round in the regular season....

I had fun coming out this past event...it started to rain after the lunch break forrun Groups 5 & 6, but stopped for Run Group 7 & 8. So, the track was pretty moist; was really interesting to see the 450+WHP Porsche GT2 try and keep traction through the tight corners while I was working Can't wait till next time, hopefully I drive better then.

thanks lorry,
but i think the true kicking was done by russ (again!) he had a fun run posting of 53.1 posted in D stock. looks like those toyos came alive this week. Now that is sick! i had left by then, but if it was on a wet track it's a super time. he was talking about driving a miata that day but maybe couldn't resist the wet awd course.

lorry, i never got tim's number from you at the event. please pm his number or email if it's ok with tim. thanks

Congrats Leo!

Rus ran in Natalie Tabacco's Miata in ES in the morning. They used the time to discover that her (new to her) car, ummm, needs a bit of work . Therefore for his afternoon time keep in mind he already had some familiarity with the course (having run it in the morning in the Miata). Don't get me wrong.....it is still an AWESOME time.....but that familiarity does help!

Rus also discovered after the event that he had a FAT crack in one of his (almost brand new) front brake rotors! Seems that Buttonwillow is a might bit tough on brakes

So, you were the one that beat me in STX-N? Nice times. I guess I can't blame my Kumho 712's, then. Well, I'm pretty happy with my results considering this was my first autox ever. Next time, I'm gonna work on looking ahead a bit more. Hopefully that'll put me in contention for #1 in the novice class.

thanks lorry for the info. and thanks ed too.
what happened to natalie's miata? i saw a dnr for her 3rd run. also, did russ discover the cracked rotor in between runs so he dnr'ed his 3rd run? that's unfortunate. if you run in two different groups, even for fun, do you have to pay another 30 bucks?

Couple of things. First the car had M+S tires......of 3 DIFFERENT brands....on it! Second, left rear tire was actually a smaller diameter than the other 3. Third, quickly dying clutch.

also, did russ discover the cracked rotor in between runs so he dnr'ed his 3rd run? that's unfortunate.
I believe so, but am not sure.

Yes, you can buy a second run card AT THE DISCRETION OF THE EVENT CHAIR. On a somewhat lighter turnout day, you'll probably get it. On a heavy day (i.e. Boondoggle), good luck (i.e. no way in hell ).

If you buy a second card, you have to take your second card runs as fun runs AFTER your competition runs, and you have to also work a second time as well or you are DNW'ed for the entire day.
