Was great today. 1st autocross and I won my class
I think I was the only one in the class but I'll take it
Was hoping for more rain, would have been more like a rallycross

Learned today that S03s don't stick for crap in the DRY. And unfortunately, it was DRY when Run group 3 (STX) ran
.
Oh well, gambled on the tire choice and lost.
Running a track event this coming Saturday at Thunderhill, then American AutoX Series down at Castle in Atwater CA on Sunday. Should be another fun weekend of racing coming up

STI-owns-Evo : I take it you haven't tried a stickier tire
Don't get me wrong, the S03's are SWEET on the street. But for STX/STU/STS competition, both the Azenis and MXs are definitely a good bit stickier. I figure I'd have taken a good 1/2-1.0 seconds off in the dry with my set of MXs......and I've done this long enough to have a really good feel for it
RE-92s.....holy crap 2cam16 you must be a glutton for punishment
. I ran one event a long time ago in my WRX on those tires (in the dry.....long story as to WHY I was on RE-92s but let's just say blatantly INcompetent tech inspectors at a non-SCCA event were involved) and it was a slip-sliding time to say the least!

Someone ran 55's in STX-N? Holy cow. No, my best was 58.250 - nowhere near 55. I'm surprised that a newbie ran 55's, as that would but them in the top third for STX in general.
