I'm hoping that the wet weather lasts for the auto-x.

4WD + wet parking lot = FUN

Definitly running again. Maybe I'll do a little better this time - would be nice to beat be Rob (the other racer in STX-N, also in a WRX) on at least 1 run .

 

Love RUNNING in the wet in the WRX. Not so much fun to WORK outside in the wet.

Might be time to get there early enough to assure myself a trailer job

 

Just a note : if you have to work course in the wet, you're not supposed to have an umbrella for safety reasons. Therefore, a cheap rain poncho is a highly recommended item to bring with you

 

Yeah, i think i've earned the right to claim myself a trailer job too. Something new for me.

Now, should i put on the MX's, or should I race in the Proxes4's???

I'll be there, I don't want it to rain though even though I have AWD... because I have to avenge my driving from last time! grrr

 

No problem Gagan, it's not too bad. Just don't do card sorter your first time in the trailer (that one IS hectic till you have some practice and really understand the "flow" of the trailer ) and you'll be fine.

As for tires, I'll wager a guess that unless your MXs are REALLY worn, you're better off on them than 4-season street tires. I am in a similar dilemma : pretty new MXs, or fairly worn (2/3) S03s. I'm leaning towards the MXs now, but laziness (i.e. not wanting to have to change tires.....twice.....in the rain) may lead me to take the leap of faith and try out the S03s

Oh yeah....for fun in the rain, try my Impala SS on R compounds. You get a whole new meaning to "pucker factor"

I've never done Auto-X, looking to get into it though. So... Where in Oakland is this? Times? I probably won't participate, but I'd love to watch.

 

Coliseum parking lot, from 9am-onwards. Most of us are running in the AM.

 

I'll be there w/ my S-03s with only abour 40-50% tread left, and Yes I want it to rain because I've never auto-x in the rain and want to learn it

 

ive never been to an autox event.. i really want to though.. ima try to make it around 9am.. danm work at 12!..
