I'm too afraid they'll give up after a while and be like, "Fine, we'll cancel your account." o_o

Comcast sucks ***

I just moved into a new place, and i know a guy that works at comcast who has access to all of the promotional deals (He's not a salesman). I was going to sign up with comcast for $50 a month (for everything inc. HBO, cinemax, speed), however they never showed up, and didn'r retrun my calls. On top of that my friend signed me up for a promotion where I would need to give over satellite equipment (that I didn't have) On the second day comcast was supposed to show up they didn't until way late, and didn't return any of my calls that day (Not to mention that every person I talked to over the phone had no idea what was going on)

Point of the story, I walked into a satellite store 2 days ago, looked at their rates, got satellite installed yesterday. I got over 200 + channels (History channel, speed, all the usual, but no HBO) for $43 a month for 6 months, then $53 after that. This includes local channels, and for two recievers. The only thing that sucks is the 12 month contract, but at the end of that I will get an 88% refund for already low equipment costs, and install was free.

I will never go back to comcast!! I hate those incompetent *******s!!

I can't afford high speed internet yet, but i would be sketchy about getting it through the dish company because I wouldn't want to be locked into any kind of a long term contract for internet access. i haven't heard any expiriences from people who have internet through the dish, so who knows what it's like.

Then again a lot of people believe that dish's lose their signal whenever it rains or storms (for TV). I have dish here at work in morgan hill, and we had some viscious storms last year, and it only lost the signal once. At my old apartment the comcast signal was always on the fritz, they changed channel listings twice, and cable went out completely atleast 5 times.

Anybody here have high speed internet through a dish?

I have a freind that uses dish (he's in a rural area so no dsl/cable), its slow, but faster than dial up. It has fast download speeds but uploading is really slow compared to cable or dsl. I use cable from comcast and its blazing fast. Lets me play xbox live Rainbow6-3 with three stars, good stuff. Consistently better than SBC dsl. You cannot game at all using the dish, too much lag.

I would consider comcast internet, but it isn't available where I live ( I live on a very old street in campbell)

If you don't mind my asking how much did your friend pay for the dish internet?
