Attn: COMCAST users... big savings!
I just called 1-800-COMCAST and told them I want to disconnect my cable service because satellite/directv is much cheaper. They verified my account info and then offered $24 off per month for the next 6 months if I would stay with Comcast. I also use Comcast for my broadband internet access - so that's $140 savings.
Two of my other friends called and did the same thing... one got $10 off per month for 6 months and the other got $20 off per month for the next year. It all depends on what services you have with Comcast now (HBO, sports pkg, internet, etc...)
Call them now and save some money!

the usual... phone #, birthdate, last 4 of SS#... after that they ask "why do you want to shut off service?" I just said directv is way cheaper and then she offered to "work with me" on price.

I just called and fed them a line of BS telling them i was going to disconnect my Cabel Modem and TV cable because the cost is too high.
She offered a $10 per month promotional deal on BOTH my standard cable AND internet FOR 1 YEAR.
I used to pay 99.95 a month for Cable & Internet so at 12 months that = $1199.49
Now with the promotion we negotiated i'll be paying $79.95 a month for Cable & Internet so at 12 i'm now paying $959.40!!!!1!1!!
I just saved $240.09

it works w/ netflix too... i called them last month "pretending" to cancel and they knocked off 25% off ANY plan i wanted.
