It might serve you to look into air to water for such a setup given the limitations of proper airflow at the motor itself.

I've seen some decent scoop set ups. I'm sure something could be fabricated to work on the 914.

or what about doing some kind of reverse mounted FMIC? like one that's set up to grab air from around the rear bumper?

I've see VW's do similar things.

I'm going to go pick it up tonight. WHen I drove it on Sun, I had one hell of a time figuring out the clutch and the linkage in the shifter. I couldn't find second to save my life. I pulled the car over and told the seller to take me for a spin. LOL. It was like learning to drove all over again. Hopefully on the way home tonight I can figure it out.

I think I am going to be in the market for a JDM EJ20, or a EJ22T. In terms of BHP. It's not going to take much to power this thing. There is a huge limitation to what you can squeeze under the fenders. So I either reduce power or, fab up some fenders for larger meat. This is gonna be fun.

exactly what do you mean by the limiting factors in physical dimensions? Is there not enough headroom to accomodate a larger turbo and intercooler? Also, what are the pros of going with a JDM motor in your case? are you considering a twin scroll? I've read that the TD04 on 914s is a great DD turbo as there is not much lag from 1-3K. Of course, a badass twin scroll on a 8K revving JDM motor would be pretty sweet too. I am very interested in doing a similar project but would like for the body to remain as stock as possible (of course then my most limiting factor would be tire size). sorry for the barrage of question btw, it just seems that you've done some (more than me) research on the matter.

Any of the EJ motors fit fine. I speak of tires. Lots of power doesn't do you much good if you can't make it stick.

I like the GT ones. They're inexpensive and they're not rediculously huge.

Could probably fit 255 under em. That should be plenty of meat for that car and about 350 ponies.
