Reminds me of something that happened to my best friend a couple years ago. He lived at an apartment complex in Richmond with his wife and baby daughter.

His wife was sleeping in the living room on the couch so she wouldnt get woken up by the baby because she had to wake up early the next morning. All of a sudden around 2am she hears banging on the door sayin that its the police and to open the door. She opens it and they rush her outside for safety.

My friend hears screaming from his room so he grabs the baby and runs out to the door only to see numerous SWAT and Richmond police pointing shotguns at him and yelling to each other "hes got a baby, hes a got a baby!"

The wife informs them that hes not a threat and they take him away and search the apartment only to find a 6 foot tall statue of Snake from metal gear solid by the window. (the same kind that was in the Metreon before, he paid 1 grand for it =P)

Well Snake is holding a suppressed handgun and with the tv flickering the shadow looks more than real for the night security passing by on the street. He said that he wanted to shoot at it but thought it better to call the cops instead haaha, his name was Bubba btw.

And its funny because the wifes dad was a veteran on Richmond police and they all knew him and were all very embarassed

I'm all for firearm ownership, but I'm pretty sure most companies have a policy against firearms at work.

Something similar to this happened at my old work. I wont name my company, but we made a military style video game (shooter). We modeled all of the in-game weapons from fake plastic/rubber replicas (looked very real, but didn't work or have action). We had a 3D motion capture studio on site and everything.

We had STRICT rules about transporting the replica firearms since we worked in a large office building that we shared with other companies. The rules were to have the weapons covered AT ALL TIMES, and to have them in inconspicuous containers, such as travel luggage and such.

One day a programmer was bringing an M4 Assault rifle (with sling), a Beretta 92FS pistol, and a FRIGGIN ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADE LAUNCHER (RPG) into the studio from an off site location. Normal protocall would be to have all the said replica weapons covered and in proper containers, but that's not what happened. The programmer shows up at around 10am, and since the weapons weren't real (he's the only one who knew that!), he didn't think it would be a big deal if he just carried them up to the office without covering them up with anything at all... He gets out of his car, slings the M4 rifle over his shoulder, grabs the RPG launcher in one hand, and the pistol in the other, and casually walks up to the building, gets in the elevator (alone) and goes into our sector of the building. He didn't think anything of it like an idiot!

Well, some people saw him and called 911, and this is where it gets good.

A few mins after him getting in to work (we're on the 3rd floor) we see a bunch of police activity right in our parking lot... Then we see SWAT show up and a ton of police cars surrounding the area. That's when we realized that they were coming into our building! People started evacuating and we started hearing screaming down the hall, and thats when SWAT came to our floor. I guess by the time that they got to our part of the building, they had already been informed that the guns were fake and told what had happened (programmer realized what he had done and called down to the cops to inform them). SWAT still had to clear everything to make sure that it was in fact the truth, and they were PISSED!

It was a huge ordeal, but since the guy was fairly new and no one told him about the rules, he didn't get fired or anything. Our handling rules got VERY, VERY strict after that, that's to say the least!

Whoever called needs to understand people can own their own firearms and show others their firearm. LoL

Is it really socialism? I mean there have been a lot of shootings at work places recently. If you assemble something that looks like a gun well.....anyway i'd be glad if it was at my work, sounds like the police responded perfectly. I think people are afraid of insane ppl who have snapped. If you built that thing at a school or airport you'd be ****ed.

difference between America "socialist" and other countries

if you did this **** somewhere else they'd blow your fawking head off first and ask questions later.

I have a Glock 17 and a .50 from Brickguns. They break if you look at them sideways, but they're pretty scale-appearing if you catch a glimpse of one from 30-40 feet away and aren't a gun owner, I suppose.
